Health can mean different things to different people. When I think of health, I think of the overall physical, mental and social well-being of an individual. In order to be healthy in all aspects of one’s life, one must pay close attention to their own mind, body, and spirit. I perform at my best when I feel physically, mentally, and socially healthy. A healthy person is a happy person, in my opinion.
In the physical sense, one can become healthy by exercising regularly. When I exercise on a regular basis, I feel confident about myself. In a sense, being physically healthy feeds into being mentally healthy. When I feel happy and confident in myself, I feel mentally healthy.
I have heard the saying “You are what you eat”. I can see why people say this. When I eat a home cooked meal made with fresh ingredients, I feel satisfied and more lively than if I were to eat fast-food. I also feel more energetic and lighter, in general, when I eat such foods as sushi.
When and if I get married, I want to be with someone who cares about health as much as I do. I understand that pharmaceuticals must be taken sometimes later in life, and will understand if and when he may wind up taking Viagra. However, hopefully we will be healthy enough to stay away from a majority of the pharmaceuticals out there.
